Contact the Supplier/Installer

The easiest way to find out who created the windows is to contact the window installer or supplier. This might not be as easy as you think. 

You might have to contact the home builder and ask them for that information or the property’s previous owners. They should be able to provide you with information on who made and installed your windows.

Identify the Window 

In many cases, the windows themselves will have the manufacturer’s name etched into the glass’s lower corner, similar to a trademark. Take a peek and see what you can find on your windows. 

If they don’t, there could be a label from an energy approving agency that should also mention the manufacturer’s name or a code number. If there is a number, you can research it (either online or correlating it to the rating agency’s list) to determine who made your windows. 

Double Check Your Home’s Records

You might not even go that far when it comes to finding out who made your windows. Back when you purchased the house, you would have received a lot of paperwork about it. Somewhere in the midst of all it, there would be information about the windows. 

There could be a window label, a copy of the warranty, a copy of receipts, or, in some cases, reports on energy-saving tax incentives. Even the home inspection report might show you the quality and demand of the windows. See what you can find and work from there.
